What Is the Best Time of the Day to Take a Pregnancy Test?

  • Eat a healthy diet: Add a lot of green vegetables to your diet, along with fresh fruits. Also, eat fruits that are rich in folate, like oranges, lentils and fortified cereals. Do not forget calcium-rich food like dairy products, soya and fish. Make sure your fish does not have  mercury. Ensure enough fluid intake, like 6 to 8 glasses of water.

  • Stop overeating: Avoid overeating as you need only 300 to 500 additional calories in pregnancy than your normal routine. Moreover, track your weight gain, as it should not be more than 25 to 35 pounds.

  • What is the reason for abnormal discharge?

The most common reason for abnormal discharge is some sort of infection in the vagina. It could either be a fungal infection, bacterial infection or parasitic infection.

If you are experiencing an abnormal discharge that might force you to use the pad, or the discharge is yellowish, greenish or dark red and smelly, you should consult your doctor right away. A doctor will perform multiple tests, along with the swab test of the discharge.

If you have a fungal infection, it’s easily curable with antifungal tablets. In the case of bacterial vaginosis,  the discharge is greenish-yellow and has a fishy smell.

Such infections, too, are easily curable with antibiotic tablets. But it’s important to note that bacterial vaginosis can affect pregnancy and result in preterm labour.

If you are experiencing watery discharge in late pregnancy, it could be a sign of a breakage in the amniotic fluid. This is an emergency condition, and you need to reach the hospital right away.

It’s possible that it’s the time of delivery. If too much time elapses, it could severely impact you and your baby’s health.

Wrapping Up

Normal discharge in pregnancy is always low in quantity; there’s no itching, it has no smell, and its colour is white or colourless. If your discharge is curdy white, dark red or greenish-yellow and has a fishy smell, it’s an abnormal discharge. In such a condition, it’s very important to reach out to your doctor for treatment.

But if you experience discharge during the late pregnancy and it’s watery in nature, it can be the time for delivery. In such conditions, do not delay and reach out to your gynaecologist right away.
